CHILDREN’S CHURCH COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES
We want to ensure everyone is kept safe during this time. Our children, workers and visitors are important to us. The guidelines below will demonstrate how we plan to operate within the Children's Church safely. We will be following government guidance closely, as well as carrying out monthly risk assessments to ascertain what we can do within our facility.
We will ensure that face-to-face meetings and activities are developed so that, at all times:
Ministry workers and children comply with social distancing rules (determined by the government).
Hygiene levels are maintained, particularly in the areas of hand-washing, use of toilet facilities, surface and equipment cleaning, particularly areas that are of child height.
Any risk to Ministry workers and the wider community is safely managed, including a reduction in group sizes where necessary.
Ministry workers, parents and children all clearly understand what adjustments will be made to ensure everyone's safety.
Capacity
Parent/carer will not be allowed to stay in the children's church settings.
Parent/carer or Children's church workers who are off duty will NOT be allowed to walk through the children's church area.
Children must be confident of remaining within their group without their parents/carers. If this is not possible, the child should stay with their household in the main congregation.
Groups will be limited to a maximum of 5 children.
Illness
Using a thermometer, a non-contact temperature check for all workers and children will be mandatory on arrival to each session.
We will NOT accept any children or ministry workers with coughs or cold symptoms.
We will be communicating with all workers before their session to ensure they are fit to serve.
It is vital that you do not bring your child to church if they are unwell in any way particularly if they are displaying any of the following symptoms;
A new continuous cough
Loss or change to a sense of smell or taste
Sanitise
Children's church workers and children must wash their hands when entering and leaving the Children's Church area or use hand sanitiser.
Sanitiser will be readily available for use at various points throughout the children's church area.
All toys will be cleaned with medical-grade wipes.
Any toys which are too difficult to wipe down will NOT be used in Creche session.
No soft toys will be used as well as anything that is not able to be cleaned.
All equipment used for sessions, i.e. tables, will be cleaned before and after use.
Drop Off/Collection
For your child to attend Children's church, parent/carer must pre-book online. If a slot is not booked in advance, your child will not be able to join the session.
Strictly the same person who drops off a child collects the child.
To avoid congestion and queues in the CC area, we will be implementing staggered start and finish times.
Please ensure you are ready to collect/drop your child at your allocated time.
Track and Trace
Our Booking system will be used as part of Track and Trace, we will be recording the information of all who access the Children's church facility. This information is strictly to contact individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19.
